Welcome to WRG Wind Energy

Waste Recycling Group (WRG), a leading UK waste management and energy recovery company, is part of FCC, the international environmental services, infrastructure and energy group.

The Company operates facilities for the recycling, treatment and disposal of waste, including a network of waste transfer and recycling centres and a regional network of landfill sites, and also manages a wide range of recycling sites on behalf of local authorities for use by the general public. It also generates energy from waste, contributing significantly to the Government’s efforts to reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

Pressures on the waste management industry to work in partnership with local authorities to recover secondary resource and value from waste has never been greater.

Building on its well-established track record in energy recovery, WRG is now taking an innovative approach to finding additional ways to use its landholding to help generate renewable energy in the UK.

WRG is committed to helping the UK meet its renewable energy targets and reduce its carbon emissions. Recognising that the UK has the best wind resource in Europe, WRG has reached the conclusion that developing wind turbines on appropriate and existing landfill sites is the next logical step for the company to take.
