Hull and East Riding Waste Management - Target 45+

The Hull and East Riding (HER) Target 45+ strategy is all about HER and WRG working together to ensure new and improved waste management facilities are provided to take recycling and composting levels in HER to 45% and beyond.

Waste which is not recycled will eventually, once the Salt end EfW plant is built, be converted into green energy, providing the energy equivalent of 80,000 tonnes of coal a year.

Target 45+ will save 4 million tonnes of waste going to landfill in the next 20 years.
